WHAT IS TAKING PLACE DURING
AND AFTER A SESSION

When you are experiencing a session with your reflexologist, you are in a parasympathetic state which means your body is in the rest and repair mode. Several things are taking place during this state. One is the physical, the soothing sense of touch. The next level is the “etheric” level where energy is passed invisibly from the hands of the reflexologist to your feet and hands. This invisible exchange helps the body heal itself and balance but your body does all the work. Scientific research tells us that under laboratory conditions, some reflex points cause the circulation to improve, the blood becomes enriched and breathing is improved while oxygen levels rise. Reflexology also releases endorphins which are released from the brain and are 1000 times more powerful than morphine. These endorphins have a calming effect on the body and make people feel relaxed and happy. Your reflexologist is also gaining the benefit of a workout while giving a session.

While giving a reflexology massage, you receive the benefit of relaxation and improved health since your body is trying to re-balance itself. You are in a parasympathetic state – a healing state – where your body is eliminating toxins, getting rid of free radicals and recovering energy. Rebalancing the energy gives you better health. Often, clients will fall asleep during a massage which will again bring benefits of relaxation and healing.

Combining hypnosis with reflexology massage can be all the more calming since you are calming your mind as well as your body. With Progressive Relaxation exercises you rest your body and keep your mind alert at all times. Your body is indeed asleep while your mind is completely aware. You are in control so you can choose to move or say something, however, you are so focused and clear that you may just want to enjoy feeling wonderful, perhaps imagining yourself at the beach, feeling the warm touch of the sun, cozy and comforting with absolutely nothing to do but rest. After the massage is completed we would work on your goal for the day with hypnosis.

Hypnosis works by suggestions which are placed in the subconscious during a session to achieve a specific goal such as pain management, weight loss, cessation of smoking and any other addiction. Suggestions are taken into the mind and dropped in the subconscious during sleep. After you awaken, the suggestions are then implemented when needed while controlling physically the side effects of withdrawal & cravings. When I quit smoking through hypnosis I had no withdrawal symptoms and no coughing. I had been a smoker for many years and I never smoked cigarettes again.
