MINERALS WE NEED

MAGNESIUM
Magnesium is depleted by smoking, drinking alcohol, taking enemas, and some pharmaceutical drugs.

Foods rich in Magnesium - parsley, cauliflower, turnips and turnip greens, broccoli, beans, buckwheat, tofu, collard greens, beet greens, barley, corn, carrots, celery, sunflower seeds, seaweed or dulse, black-eyed peas, red and white beans, and lima beans.

POTASSIUM
Low levels of potassium causes fatigue.Potassium is depleted by smoking, alcohol, diuretics, coffee, salt and sugar.

Foods rich in Potassium - alfalfa sprouts, chicory roots, plantain leaves (you probably had to weed them out in your back yard) but these are absolutely free to anyone who can dig them out. Also, sesame seeds, dates and figs, lemons, parsley, potatoes, spinach, yams, cantaloups, grapefruit, kelp & dulse, sesame seeds, collard greens, kale and swiss chards, carrots, celery, broccoli and brussel sprouts. You can also get watercress where available, chamomile, nettle (yes the stinging kind) greens dandelion roots.

These are just two but there are dozens and as we get older our bodies need supplements. See your local health food store, pharmacists and always ask your doctor first what you should take.
