COMPLIMENTARY HEALING ARTS

MASSAGE

Massage means many different techniques these days. There are several that I mention here which I have experience with. Massage is the compassionate human touch of one person to another on the physical spot where there is pain and discomfort. Good massages are done on bare skin, not through clothing and here in the west, we base the theory on physiology to explain the physical problems.

Healing the way Jesus did it, hands on! A healing of the spirit as well as body in the channel and the receiver. A wonderful healing energy derived from the universe that always goes where it is needed to help speed healing at the molecular level. Reiki cannot be used to harm anyone.

Negative energy returns to its owner who has to deal with karma.

REIKI

Reiki´s origins are shadowed in the past but it was rediscovered by a Japanese Master, Mikao Usui in this last century. It is a gentle healing system promoting self-awareness, awareness and understanding of others and healing mind, body & soul.

I am now a Reiki Seichim Master (the feminine side of Reiki), attuned to the Master Level.

SHIATSU

Shiatsu can be done through clothing unlike most massages. Shiatsu looks at the overall condition of the body as a whole, and manipulates the body in stretches and rotations which are much like standard physiotherapy. The healing techniques of Shiatsu are based on Oriental medical theory using meridians. Meridians are used which are imaginary lines passing throughout the body. For more information, please refer to any of several good books on the subject.

HEALING

There is a long history of the “healing on of hands” to bring relief from pain, however, science cannot explain the healing energy which is sent directly to the affected areas. Most healers will say that the power does not come from them but from God or the universe and this is how I feel when I am giving a massage. The client and I both feel the warmth of energy going through my hands to the body and much of this is based on intuition and experience. In healing, the seven energy centers (Chakras - vortices of energy meaning “wheel” in Sanskrit) are “felt” by the healer´s hands and guide to any energy differences through the hands.

ACUPUNCTURE

I´ve had acupuncture myself with great results when I had back problems early on in my practice. Acupuncture is used for chronic persistent conditions that need work at a deeper level. This practice increases mobility and relieves pain and is also based on meridians.

Mandala is from the Sanskrit meaning circle. Everywhere in life there are circles. The eye is a mandala from which all reflexes can be seen as evidenced in Iridiology. Wheels, themes from nature, all reflect the circle of life. Just think of the middle of a flower, the perfect form of a snowflake, our solar system, the Milky Way and the galaxy all follow the pattern of a mandala. You see this pattern and path reflected throughout nature and the universe.

Throughout history, many cultures have used circles in their art, notably Tibetan art, as well as the Gothic Cathedrals, holy temples, shrines and sacred dances all reflect the mandala or circle of life. The quest for knowledge have led many cultures to the fundamental idea that all life transcends cultural boundaries. That is to say, there are universal truths for all people, independent of race, creed, colour or gender. Life is energy, oscillating, moving, rotating atoms that never stop moving. Nothing can exist without the smallest atom because everything that exists is composed of atoms. Colours too are nothing but an oscillation perceived by our eyes with the “image” of colour happening in our brains. When we see colour we react to it and so does every organ in our bodies. Everything oscillates to its own specific energy or vibration but it can’t exist just by itself.

Mandalas actually help healing by meditating upon them, seeing their colours permeate your vision and imagining all the colours permeating your body with healing vibrational energy. You can make your own personal mandala, just remember every colour and pattern has a meaning which helps specific areas of the body and psyche. Watch your mandala five minutes before going to bed and concentrate upon it, breathing in it’s calming and healing effects into your body. It is very much like hypnosis because the last 5 seconds before you fall asleep, you’re mind is very calm and can absorb any suggestion it is given. In hypnosis the final five seconds before sleep is extended and your hypnotist guides you to reach your goal. With mandalas, it is self guided since you concentrate and focus upon the wheel until your mind has absorbed it fully, allowing your body and subconscious mind to send healing vibrational energy throughout your body.
